| For more than 20 years Bobby DePorter has been a driving force in the on-going process of revolutionizing learning/teaching in this country and abroad. Innovative programs like 'Super Camp' (introducing young people to new ways of learning and getting them started on lifelong skills and study programs) and 'Quantum Learning' (directed at teachers, students, and the business community), along with her 'Quantum'-books have become models and essentials for teaching professionals and concerned parents.

DePorter, Bobbi, Reardon, Mark, and Sarah Singer-Nourie. Quantum Teaching. Orchestrating Student Success. Needham Heights, MA: Allyn & Bacon, 1999.
| Quantum teaching focuses on the interactions that take place in a classroom/learning environment: the dedication and skills of the teacher, the openness or resistance of students to teaching, the curriculum as it is designed and presented, the delivery of the content, props, classroom etiquette, use of teaching aids, new technology. This is a very handy manual that every teacher should have in the classroom and at home. |
Dickinson, Dee, ed. Creating the Future: Perspectives on Educational Change. Aston Clinton, Bucks, UK: Accelerated Learning Systems, Ltd, 1991.
| This collection of very brief essays, thoughts actually, by a consortium of experts, on topics across the whole spectrum of education is remarkable for the depth and scope of thinking despite the brevity of presentation. One gets hardly into an article when it ends, often abruptly - but maybe this is the purpose of the book: it titillates you to the point where you want to look for more, and with this list of authors it will lead to a deluge of books... |

This book is not just for parents and teachers but can help any leaner to use integrative learning |
Kohl, Herbert. The Discipline of Hope: Learning From a Lifetime of Teaching. New York, NY: Simon & Schuster, 1998.
| How, as a white Jewish teacher, do you become an effective educator in black New York? This is not just a biography, but a well-written, exciting manual on how to do it. |
Novak, Joseph and Bob D. Gowin. Learning How To Learn. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press, 1984, 1999.
| The authors argue that learning is synonymous with a change in the meaning of experience. They have developed two new educational tools to support their theory of the conceptual nature of knowledge and to help students and teachers in their quest for providing better education: 'concept mapping' and 'knowledge Vee diagramming' a way to penetrate the structure and meaning of knowledge. The philosophy upon which this new thinking is based is David Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning as contrasted with rote learning. Individuals must relate new knowledge to relevant concepts and propositions they already know. |
Novak, Joseph D. Learning, Creating, and Using Knowledge: Concept Maps (TM) as Facilitative Tools in Schools and Corporations. Mahwah, NJ: Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Publishers, 1998.
| During the last decades great strides have been made, and the results published, in the areas of learning, knowledge acquisition, teaching, etc. but little of this knowledge has actually found its way into schools and teaching methods in the form of practical applications. Based on David Ausubel's Assimilation Learning Theory, the author has developed concept maps and related mega-cognitive tools to underscore his theories of education and knowledge which are based on the nature of human learning and the nature of knowledge, its capture, creation, and use, respectively. |
