Resource Center A Guide to Electronic and Printed References Learning Patterns

Levine, Mel. A Mind at a Time.  New York NY: Simon & Schuster, 2002

This is an impassioned appeal to parents and teachers of 'abnormal' children - don't give up; try to understand that each person's brain is 'wired differently', that it can be good in one subject but not another, that it can trigger behavior problems that need to be recognized before they can be addressed, and that every child can succeed  somehow, in something, when given the chance. This is not easy in our performance and test-driven age and society but unless we try to understand why they behave the way they do, many of our youngsters will be scarred for life.
